A Day in the Life of a Mom-Herbalist

This daily blog has been about the struggles of juggling motherhood with being a full-time student for the first eight months of its existence.  I still share some of my life now that I've graduated but I also share information each day on herbs that I've learned along this journey.   While my herbariums are listed for free membership, I provide four fields from them in my blog: Constituents (the active ingredients of the herbs), the therapeutic actions (Examples are expectorant and stimulant), indications (colds, skin rashes, emphysema, etc), and safety information. More information can be found in the herbariums but these are the most important educational fields.  I also share scientific studies to help educate people who think there are no studies showing herbs work.

Membership to this site is free.

My daughter's being needy today, of course so I haven't gotten any studying done yet but I have a thought and wanted input. I really like the idea of keeping a free membership on my site for the virtual herbariums but is there any interest in paid access where I write about herbs expanding on the herbariums to include growing, harvesting, nutrition, etc? That's what I'm thinking of a series of books (starting with the herbs in my lab kits again because I'll have something to start from) with all the information you could ever want to know about an herb. I've learned books are a crap-shoot. You can buy dozens and not get the information you are looking for exactly. The books, when advertised, don't tell what herbs are listed nor how much data is in there on each herb. I'd like to produce a product that does. If I do this, it will happen some time next year. I'm thinking 1 herb a month and once I have enough to put in a book, I'll self-publish then people can have a copy in their homes. Thoughts?

These pages are also linked on the Herbal Lists page but this is the list of things that get discussed more frequently so I added the link here.
