A Day in the Life of a Mom-Herbalism Student

This daily blog is about the struggles of juggling motherhood with being a full-time student.  I also share information each day on herbs that I've learned along this journey.  The herbs I am currently discussing are all things I received in my lab kits for class, meaning I get to actually work with them and pass on first-hand knowledge. While my herbariums are listed for free membership, I provide four fields from them in my blog: Constituents (the active ingredients of the herbs), the therapeutic actions (Examples are expectorant and stimulant), indications (colds, skin rashes, emphysema, etc), and safety information. More information can be found in the herbariums but these are the most important educational fields.

Membership to this site is free.

We got up before the sun...  My son cried for less than 30 seconds when mommy left him with Aunt Aundra. He played like crazy and she now understands why I'm tired and can't handle extra kids so well while getting my school work done.  He was his normal non-stop self.  She was afraid of the office as normal.  They gave her a shot and she got all loopy.  I was escorted out of the room.  A while later they told me she was done but not before they got more money from me.  While the new x-rays showed no need to extract anything, they found 3 cavities from all the time I've spent fighting her to clean her teeth.  I had a hard time waking her.  The dentist told me to do whatever I normally do to wake her and I said I don't wake her...  I tried various things then I decided to play Frozen on my phone and sing to the songs.  She hates my singing and halfway through the second song she had enough and wanted mommy to stop.  Mommy for the win!  She has wanted lots of cuddles and literally wore a helmet home from Aunt Aundra's because she refused to sit and rest for a while to have the drugs wear off.  She kept falling over. She's able to walk fine now and is begging to have her teeth done so time to go help.  Love and Light!

I am currently a student at American College of Healthcare Sciences earning my Masters of Science degree in Herbal Medicine. This blog is my journey of juggling mom-life with student life. My husband is a truck driver so I'm essentially a single mom all but 3 days a month. It's a challenge but we will get through this. I complete this degree on 18 December 2019.  I plan to write books and continue here on my blog after I complete school.

Rather than using the Herbal Lists page for some things, let me try this and see what everyone thinks.
