A Day in the Life of a Mom-Herbalist

This daily blog has been about the struggles of juggling motherhood with being a full-time student for the first eight months of its existence.  I still share some of my life now that I've graduated but I also share information each day on herbs that I've learned along this journey.   While my herbariums are listed for free membership, I provide four fields from them in my blog: Constituents (the active ingredients of the herbs), the therapeutic actions (Examples are expectorant and stimulant), indications (colds, skin rashes, emphysema, etc), and safety information. More information can be found in the herbariums but these are the most important educational fields.  I also share scientific studies to help educate people who think there are no studies showing herbs work.

Membership to this site is free.

I think I missed a week somewhere in my counting because there are 3 weeks left of school...

I took my final in Health and Wellness yesterday.  I got a 89%.  I was surprised because the essay questions are supposed to be 200 words and I only wrote 2 essays and one was only 89 words. He gave me full points for both and I only missed one multiple choice question.  I'm satisfied that I did well.  I have everything done for that class but he won't grade the discussion board until we get to that week so I don't have a final grade yet but I have a 87% in the class right now so all is good.

I still have to make one response in my toxicology discussion board that is due in 2 weeks and the quiz still needs to be done and the final exam.  However, this means I have 2 weeks to focus on my capstone. This is a GOOD thing.

I took advantage of black Friday/Cyber Monday deals today and ordered me a new laptop and a greenhouse so I can grow food outside in a healthy environment not to mention the herbs for my book entries.  I think my rosemary has dehydrated in there. Her color has not returned so I will just keep watching and see if there are any changes. The rest of my check paid bills.

My finger has returned to the way it was before I made my dietary changes and before the rash appeared. You can tell I was forced to revert my eating for a short time.  I'm learning more though about the right way to eat (which is different for everyone, I know) and I'll be able to read some of the dietary books I bought from school soon.  I want to get the nutrition text books and they are on my "to buy" list.  They will also help with the nutrition portion of my book entries.

Time for me to get to work on school stuff before I start cooking.  Hubby has to go to the store since I didn't have money for somethings I need and now we do. Happy Thanksgiving!  Love and Light!

These pages are also linked on the Herbal Lists page but this is the list of things that get discussed more frequently so I added the link here.
