A Day in the Life of a Mom-Herbalist

This daily blog has been about the struggles of juggling motherhood with being a full-time student for the first eight months of its existence.  I still share some of my life now that I've graduated but I also share information each day on herbs that I've learned along this journey.   While my herbariums are listed for free membership, I provide four fields from them in my blog: Constituents (the active ingredients of the herbs), the therapeutic actions (Examples are expectorant and stimulant), indications (colds, skin rashes, emphysema, etc), and safety information. More information can be found in the herbariums but these are the most important educational fields.  I also share scientific studies to help educate people who think there are no studies showing herbs work.

Membership to this site is free.

No new herb today.  I have 4 studies chosen but 2 of them are for the introduction portion of the paper so I need 3 more and the outline HAS to be turned in today so I have tomorrow to write the other essay.  I think I did a stranger's kid a solid yesterday.  My daughter doesn't like it when rain hits her head.  I understand, I was the same way.  She has a Tinkerbell umbrella, which I have mentioned before, but we went grocery shopping yesterday and she had to make sure she had her "rain".  Every place we went, it was over her head. We were in Wal-mart and a little girl was complaining about the rain and wanted an umbrella. She told her mother, her birthday was coming up.  Her mother told her to get over it. Then they both saw my little girl, standing in the middle of the cart with a Tinkerbell umbrella hung over her head with a huge smile on her face.  Then I hear the mother say "if you're good, I'll get you an umbrella for your birthday." That little girl sounded so happy!  My opinion: Kids get toys all the time.  Why not get them something that has a function?   My daughter loves it when it rains now because it means she gets to hold her umbrella.  I think it's well worth it.  I have sat through one lecture already today, I have another in an hour and 20 minutes. I still have dishes to do.  I'm going to get off here and get things done so I can focus on that outline.  He reminded me the due dates are fast approaching.  Thanks.  I needed that...  LOL  Have a great day!

I am like that when I buy things that have practical purposes. Like My extreme weather jacket and I have many other tools.
