A Day in the Life of a Mom-Herbalist

This daily blog has been about the struggles of juggling motherhood with being a full-time student for the first eight months of its existence.  I still share some of my life now that I've graduated but I also share information each day on herbs that I've learned along this journey.   While my herbariums are listed for free membership, I provide four fields from them in my blog: Constituents (the active ingredients of the herbs), the therapeutic actions (Examples are expectorant and stimulant), indications (colds, skin rashes, emphysema, etc), and safety information. More information can be found in the herbariums but these are the most important educational fields.  I also share scientific studies to help educate people who think there are no studies showing herbs work.

Membership to this site is free.

Last day of the school week and that clock just keeps on ticking!  This morning I'm updating 2 more herbarium entries for class.  I need to discuss one of them in the discussion board and I figured I'll update these 2 and figure out which I want to talk about.  My daughter slept in and has not had her breakfast yet. I have not been able to eat because they both want cuddles. I have attended one lecture and the other one starts soon.  I'm going to get the post for herbs done today so it will be early.  My instructor actually mentioned the late posts which made me happy.  We are supposed to comment on people's posts as part of our grade but yesterday was day 6 and only 3 of us had posted.  I got my comments done but they really are not leaving any room to actually discuss the topics shared. The kids seem to be in a good mood today despite not eating correctly.  My son didn't finish because my daughter wasn't there and she is not ready to eat yet.  I have a feeling her breakfast is going to go uneaten.  I have a lot to do today so I'm going to leave this here.

The list of herbs for discussion here which you can help me choose the order of are ginger, garlic, elecampane, California poppy, white willow bark, cramp bark, lavender, St. John's wort, peppermint and valerian.

I'm thinking the more common things like garlic, ginger, lavender and valerian first but any picks by your guys will help that decision.  Have a great day!

These pages are also linked on the Herbal Lists page but this is the list of things that get discussed more frequently so I added the link here.
